The Full Story
About Mai Gao
Mai Gao is a half Asian Canadian, born to a Cantonese Mother who immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong. When Mai Gao was born his Mother gave him the Chinese name Mai Gao which means 'Tall Rice'. Mai Gao grew his musical skills through his Ukrainian Father who coached him to always be open to all forms of music. Through time Mai Gao has crafted and rediscovered himself through this vital form of consciousness and active listening.
The Journey
Mai Gao's Journey begins when he aspires to leave his small village high up on the mountain cliffs. One day while tending to the fields, he tells his family that it is time to embark on a journey of discovery. Looking to find a trail full of hope, a trail of love and a trail of peace. Mai Gao packs up a few items and ventures off into the world.
The Vision
While on his journey, Mai Gao discovers music in various forms from different places around the world. He learns the eastern ways and the western ways and finds new experiences in becoming a student of diverse musical backgrounds. No sound is beyond reach. As the journey continues, Mai Gao shares the light with all who will listen, and those who do then begin their own voyage.
